Re: RSP1A Basic functionality test - checking second hand device

Hi Clack, The easiest way to get started with an RSP and SDRuno is to tune into a local FM radio station. That will help you get familiar with the settings and functions of the RSP1A and SDRuno. Do the following: 1) On the SDR Main Window, select SETT. On the Input Tab, set Input Level Display to "G...

Re: Bias-T Not working

Ryan and Andy, the current draw for the SawBird+ GOES is 180 mA according to the NooElec web site: https://www.nooelec.com/store/sdr/sdr-addons/sawbird/sawbird-plus-goes-302.html Ryan, the maximum current available from the Bias-T on of the RSP1A is only 100mA as stated by Andy. So the power output ...

Re: Es'hail 2 QO100 DVB-S2 and SDRplay RSP1A/2/duo

Below is a proposed system for Es'Hail 2 reception. The system makes use of a low cost LNBF that others have verified will work well with Es'Hail 2. The antenna consists of a repurposed low cost standard 1m offset parabolic reflector typically used for satellite TV reception which provides around 38...

Re: Frequency shift for LNB/Es'Hail

Hi Andy, For receiving images from Es'Hail 2 QO100 many are now using low cost LNBFs combined with a small parabolic dish antenna and an SDR plus PC software. There is an overall system diagram here: https://www.sdrplay.com/community/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=4755#p16575 . There is a article here which de...

There is a nice article here on the forum for building a QFH: https://www.sdrplay.com/community/viewt ... f=5&t=2529 You can also find references online for other QFH antennas.

Es'hail 2 QO100 DVB-S2 and SDRplay RSP1A/2/duo

Just checking to see if anyone on the forum in Europe has had a chance to receive video images from Es'hail 2 using an SDRplay RSP. There is an article here where this has been reported to be done using PC decoding software for DVB-S2 developed by Marcel Kroner here https://forum.amsat-dl.org/index....

Re: HRIT and LRIT Geostationary Weather Satellite Image Reception

Hi David, The link for the original e-Bay source for the 50ft USB extender cables that were found to work well is no longer valid. Finding 50ft USB 2.0 extension cables that work flawlessly is not easy, but most that have a large ferrite choke at each end of the cable and an active repeater circuit ...

Here are the results using the described modification: GOES 16 Before: Quality 95.1%, VT 76 EB/No 5.55dB (based on improvements described in the August 12, 2018 Post - the out-of-the-box figure without any modification was around Quality 69.7 VT 455) After Mod: Quality 98.4%, VT 26, Eb/No 6.83dB G16...

Re: HRIT and LRIT Low-Cost System

Update: simple modification significantly improves GOES 16 and 17 HRIT signal reception using Premiertek ANT-GRID-24DBI antenna. [This modification is solely meant for the Premiertek ANT-GRID-24DBI antenna. Application of this modification to other similar antennas may not have the desired results a...
