Re: HDSDR2 Waterfall screen noise with RSP2
Hello Glenn, Welcome to the world of EMC. Many devices especially those cheap ones coming from Asia do not fulfil the requirements of the EMC-directive (Europe) or FCC (USA). They produce to much noise on the power-lines, the power-lines radiate this noise and you hear the harmonics of the switching...

Re: PC (laptop) power induces significant noise
Hello Adrian, For me this transformer looks like a transformer for your doorbell. It is rather unusual to use this kind of transformers for LEDs. Transformers for doorbells often are simple transformers without any active component, they don't produce noise on the power lines. You should look for a ...

Many devices especially those cheap ones coming from Asia do not fulfil the requirements of the EMC-directive (Europe) or FCC (USA). Re: Blew up antenna port A on my new RSP2. :(
imho there are decoupling capacitors used for the inputs of RSP1/2. They are situated in front of the limiting diodes BAV99W of Port A and Port B so the diodes will not be destroyed by DC (but maybe by to much HF). The HiZ-Input does not seem to have capacitors in front of the diodes, they are conne...

Re: Antenna's
Hello, I use the RSP2pro with a Diskone on Port B and an active antenna (DX10) on Port HiZ and Port A. For HiZ I use a homebrew transformer 6:26 wdg on a BN73-202 binocular core. Port A of the RSP2pro and the input of the transformer are connected to the DX10 (behind the Bias-T) by a simple resistiv...

Re: Blew up antenna port A on my new RSP2. :(
Hello Jimbo,
imho the devices you mention are diodes like BAV99 (A7). They work as limiters.
If port B and HiZ is still working I would try to remove this diodes and make a test whether reception is possible.
The IC labelled 251 is a antenna switch. Hopefully you didn't blow that.
Wolfgang

Re: SDRuno freezes
I have the same problem as wolfdd using "HDSDR with RSP2" rev. 2.76 . Sometimes when I switch between antenna "High Z" and antenna "A" using ExtIO HDSDR freezes. I have to stop and start again then everything works fine. Seems to be a little bug in the antenna-switching.

Re: RSP2 LO 3rd harmonic spurious response only -20dBC
Hello Andy
Give a BN 73-202 a try. For me it works down to 10 kHz as a matching transformer for the HiZ-input of the RSP2.

You can buy inexpensive adapters to BNC at several Chinese online-stores. They work very well.

Re: Couple of RSP2 Newbie Questions...
Hello Everyone, It is very simple to build a transformer for the HiZ-input of the RSP2. Just use a binocular core BN 73-202 (1€) with 3 turns primary and 13 turns secondary. You can also try 2 turns/9turns that may be better on higher frequencies. It takes 10 minutes to wind the transformer. Using t...
