Re: Why do my posts suddenly need moderator approval?

Personally I have no problem with the forum being actively moderated at all and that it is a good thing creating a positive feeling on the board. i do not believe that Tech Support would not publish a post because of incorrect technical information or criticism of it's product, which is excellent, a...

Re: "Low Noise" Vertical Antennas for Receiving

Thank you Bill for your post and the links it contained.
I'll spend some time this week looking through it all and maybe think about building one to compare to my PA0RDT which works very well at my location.

Re: Purchase contemplated - SDRPlay / SDRUno / CW Skimmer / Win 10

As you asked about the main difference between a rsp1a and the rsp2 or pro, the main difference is the antenna connection.
The rsp2's have a high Z port which may be useful for swl as well as the sma port.

Re: Parting thoughts

Sorry to see you leave Noel, but I understand your views. For what it's worth I was, no longer, a member of an amateur radio club in Gloucester, UK. I and a couple of others found that the training was poor and we decided to do something about it and help noobies. This involved changing the way trai...

Re: PA0RDT Antenna

Hi sdrom33,
Roelof Bakker can be contacted by email,

roelof@ndb.demon.nl

I found his email from a review of his mini whip, I have no connection to Roelof apart from being a satisfied customer.

Re: New Sdrplay and antenna creation

Hi Bas, At my house the PA0RDT definitely outperforms a dipole I had, linked dipole for 20 and 40m. Noise here is S7 on a good day and S9+ on a bad day. Lots of man made noise here, I live 50 yards from a big school. I had given up operating from home due to noise and operate portable with S1-s3 noi...

Re: PA0RDT Antenna

I bought mine direct from Roelof Bakker PA0RDT, built to order, quickly delivered and great quality. He can also supply a quiet psu.
Works great.

Re: New Sdrplay and antenna creation

Hi Ken, I'm quite new to sdr as well, if I may make a suggestion, I've just bought a PA0RDT mini whip antenna, good for very low frequency to around 30mhz. It can be built with minimal tools, easily found components and is tiny for a HF antenna, around 3 1/2 inches tall. I also have a dipole and ran...

Re: PA0RDT Antenna

Hi Mike,
Yes, the isolation transformer is installed and has jumper to connect antenna ground to station ground, but can be taken out.
The incoming coax will be attached to a ground rod next to the house which is in turn connected to a further 4 ground rods.
