Re: Virtual Trackgen

All up and running. Checked spot frequency @ 10Mhz and bang on. Hi Graham Is that with the Arduino running the Trackgen firmware ? - If so, did you experience any problems getting the analyser to connect to the Arduino module ? which Arduino module are you using ? I'm wondering if there are any pla...

Re: Feedback for version 1.0a here

I would guess that like any RX, the '50 ohm' spec is purely nominal and will vary significantly with frequency, particularly when a filter band-edge is crossed. Yes, but in this example i have a steady Frequency at 4MHz , only changing attenuation , I have not checked but i also think that this pro...

Re: Feedback for version 1.0a here

When i was testing the AD9850 tracking generator function, I placed it on SPOT frequency 4 MHz and thought i could make a calibration with the dBM trim, but i saw some strange behavior in the signal level in this configuration. RSP2 Port A ---> Step attenuator 1 to 10dB ---> AD9850 set to 4MHz and o...

Re: Virtual Trackgen

I'm tempted to get one of the ADF4351 board and have a play with some filtering as it's a cheap device. Agreed that it is a cheap device but how do you intend to go about the filtering. The 'simplistic' approach is a LPF that would cut out the higher frequency harmonics of the square wave. But the ...

Re: Feedback for version 1.0a here

On some old "or newer" HP Spectrum analyzers I remembered that if I put in "zero" span or something you could listen to the signal in a built in AM/FM detector, could that be some feature to add in future ?

Re: Virtual Trackgen

Hi Steve

Ok about the frequency limit, i am waiting for the board it was out of stock, probably here about 2-3 seeks so no hurry.

Re: Virtual Trackgen

Hi Steve Yep it work´s now , typed CONNECTED in capitals, i read that other commands to DDS could be either low or upper case. Also I hooked up a AD9850 and programmed a ProMini with the nano code and that worked also but i had to run Spectrum analyser as Administrator otherwise it would not connect...

Re: Virtual Trackgen

I have installed Version 1.0 Alpha and running on a RSP 2 works great. Now i have downloaded Virtual Trackgen and Com0com I have Virtual COM3 and COM4 on Win10/64 computer and running Virtual Trackgen in VS 2015. The GUI comes up and I can set COM3 in Trackgen and COM4 in Spectrum analyser . In the ...
