Re: Antenna Suitability

Some better results and advice would be had if we knew what it was you are interested in hearing. Better antenna + Better radio = Better results every time...Mike

For whomever is doing the videos in the apps catalog

MultiPSK now has a new option to support the SDRPlays - I believe it's using IQ data. It appears it needs a little setup for it to work properly. It would be a good topic to either update the existing video or cut a new one

Re: Digital modes within SDRUno?

The concept of a plug in is not new; SDR # uses it (in fact, they have an ADS-B plugin). Even a DDE type link to interface directly to MultiPSK would be better. As an example, I strongly suspect Win4IcomSuite does this with DM780. So there are ways to do it without having to use something like VB Ca...

Re: Front end protection during thunderstorm?

Let's be real here - all of these devices will mitigate, but not prevent, damage from a thunderstorm. You really need to shut down, disconnect (and preferably ground, away from the home) your antenna feedline(s), disconnect any power supplies from your PC There's no way to actually prevent damage fr...

Re: Nearby strong AM broadcasting station

Using a quarter wave stub works fine on VHF, but on MW it's very long and unwieldy. Better to use a tunable notch, and I know of only 1 commercial unit...

Re: Nearby strong AM broadcasting station

Mea Culpa. I thought you were tuning on HF, not MW and LW. Nevertheless, the Cross Country and MFJ-956 passive preselectors would be a better bet for you, rather than the other MFJ one. Many of the loops I have on that page really don't cover LW all that well; however I'm willing to bet the Longwave...

Re: Nearby strong AM broadcasting station

Hi Chris. I'm sure you're not the only one to have to deal with a strong MW station within striking distance of your home. You have basically 2 options - install a filter or use a passive preselector which is much like a tunable filter. It will allow only a certain range of frequencies to pass while...

Digital modes within SDRUno?

This is probably a pie-in-the-sky thought, but what the hey - it would be nice to have some plug ins that can do digital decoding. Certainly use the various ham modes such as PSK31, Olivia, FT4 and 8, etc. as well as some of the non ham modes such as SITOR-B/NAVTEX, HFDL (with the ability to read th...

Here are 2 passive preselectors - the first won't work below 1.6 Mhz, the other is much more broad banded...
