Re: SDRplay and SDR# - state of art

SDR Sharp dropped support for the ExtIO interface after 1361. Beyond that point, you need to use the native SDR sharp plugin which unfortunately only allows restricted functionality

Re: SDR Play low IF mode and images

Dear DaveB,
We hope to have a better long term solution to the problem of unwanted images in Zero IF mode available in the not too distant future. Please keep an eye out for announcements.

Re: RF Gain?

Dear kb9rz, The RSP gain control is indeed different from a conventional receiver. The first thing to note is that what is controlled is gain reduction from Maximum gain and not gain as such. If you are using HDSDR, with the slider at the top of its adjustment rang and the Gain reduction setting at ...

Re: Problem With Set up (SDRPlay @ SDR Console

Dear Steve, The first thing to check is that your gain is not set too high. this will cause the receiver to overload and give the impression that the sensitivity is very poor. Typically, people find that they need >50 dB of gain reduction if they have a decent antenna. If this doesn't help, please l...

Re: Shorting aerial OK?

Dear m0phe,
Applying a short to the antenna will not cause any problems with the RSP as there is no DC bias on the antenna port.

Re: SDRPlay & New Computer

Dear Saint,
Your PC should be fine for the full 8 MHz of bandwidth.

Please stick to USB 2.0, there can be occasionally some compatibility problems with USB 3.0

Re: SDR# End of support of the ExtIO interface?

Dear Captain Nemo, The problem is that SDRplay is not currently fully supported by SDR Sharp. To unlock all of these features, SDR sharp need to include support for our platform within their software and issue a new release. We will attempt to persuade them to do this, but we cannot guarantee that t...

Re: SDR play 10 or 12 bit?

Dear no9e, The ADCs are 12 bit native converters that give at least 10.4 ENOB at 10 MS/s, so Mirics rate this as 10 Bits. It is really a case of how you specify these things. Apparently Mirics had a requirement for 10 bits or more for their system and so they aimed to achieve 10 bits or better. Sinc...

Re: SDR# End of support of the ExtIO interface?

Dear Eckhard,
Can you confirm the version of SDR# you are referring to? It has changed multiple times recently.

We are certainly putting a lot of effort in trying to get the best support with SDR Console.

Re: New features requests

Dear Flyingscot,
We have found a bug in the ExtIO plugin where fractions are not being accepted. This is being fixed and will be included in a new release that will be out shortly.
