Re: Mac or Windows?
I would choose Windows. Many more SDR software choices, much easier to install said software, much more stable, mainstream support.

Re: Convince me to stay with SDRPlay (or the opposite)
Can't imagine why your RSp went deaf. I use both an RSP1 and an RSP1A and they are working flawlessly. I too contemplated buying an Airspy HF+ but I don't think that I will because of the frequency coverage limitations. I use HDSDR and older (rev 1361) SDR# with my RSPs and they work nicely. I alway...

Re: Can RSP1A Replace an Icom 7300?
Hi Dick, I saw your post about this on eHam. It is true that the RSP1A is a very good performing receiver. But so is the RX in the Icom IC-7300. For me, the answer would boil down to this: Do you want one box with no need for an external computer, and the restrictions of that? (IC-7300 = small scree...

Re: Testing RSPduo receiver sensitivity with noise generator
Thanks for posting this! Very good way to test receiver sensitivity and one which is new to me. I'm going to use this technique to measure the receiver of my Yaesu FT-817nd also .

Re: Mostly good
IMO, you really need to be running Windows in order to get the most from this. And it does NOT need to be a super fast computer with Win 10 etc. for good performance. I run HDSDR and SDRSharp both with the RSP1A on an old Dell Optiplex 360 (2.8ghz duo core, 4gb RAM) with a very stripped down copy of...

Re: RSP Spectrum analyser software available shortly
Hi All Just to let you know, Andy and Simon at SDRplay are currently giving the analyser a thorough test, including finding out what Windows platforms may have problems running it, and to make sure it works with all SDRplay products. They have already given me some invaluable feedback. In response ...

Re: RSP1A and HDSDR
Thanks for the vid link. It was for SDRUno, I would like to know whether, and if so, how to get the same functionality with HDSDR Dave G3UEG Hi Dave, Sorry for late answer but I didn't se this until now. First, it is entirely possible and is easy to set up the Griffen Powermate for use with HDSDR. ...

Re: Not a great experience so far...
Well, if you've followed all of the videos etc. then I'm not sure what to say except that I personally have found that HDSDR is MUCH easier to set up and use with OmniRig than SDRUno is......

Re: RSP1A PC software on a Mac-is it possible
I've read that some folks have run SDRUno, HDSDR, et al on the Mac under various emulators with good success. But such is difficult to set up and maintain. If you want to use the Windows SDR programs, probably is best to dedicate a simple Windows machine to the purpose. Despite what some say, it doe...

Re: HOW ABOUT A TRACKING GENERATOR?
No dedicated tracking generator is needed. These units work very well with a broadband noise source such as those easily available on eBay and other places. I have very successfully used an RSP1 along with a cheap BG7TBL noise source which I bought on eBay in order to measure filter bandwidth, and I...
