So I may try SDR first for Android my Phone has hi end Audio and Converters...if I really like it...may use a Computer ( I use my Android like a Computer now - not thrilled about using a Mouse..lol) As far as I'm aware, there is only one program available for Android which works with the SDRPlay RS...

Re: Can't install sdr play with hdsdr

I've installed & used the RSP1 with Win XP SP3 on several computers and it always worked first time but I have no other SDR radios and therefore no other extIO DLL files. Only thing which I can think of is to make sure that the correct extIO file is being loaded when you are asked -i.e. - navigate d...

Windows SDR software vs. Linux SDR software

I'm experienced with both Windows & Linux, but mostly use Windows because of my software needs. For the RSP1s here, I normally use HDSDR & SDRSharp for most work, and sometimes SDRuno. So I decided to install & try Skywave Linux, which is a special version of Ubuntu, with many radio programs preinst...

The old and the new :).

So here I sit typing this post whilst I listen to Radio Free Asia and other stations on my 1960ish Knight R-100A receiver. Then I switch the antenna over to an RSP1, using HDSDR. Both rigs are just loads of fun & functionality, and it really is neat to have an opportunity to use the old and the new ...

Re: RSP2 for radio astronomy

Not sure about the RSP2 but there are several references to using an RSP1 for this: http://cygnusa.blogspot.com/ http://cygnusa.blogspot.com/2016/08/sdrplay-receiver-support-for-radio-sky.html http://swling.com/blog/2016/08/radio-sky-spectrograph-radio-astonomy-with-the-sdrplay-rsp/ ===== I'm sure t...

Re: what I need my be what you need too.. anyone listening?

This has been done before with audio streaming over wifi. I did it years ago with a Yaesu FT-817 connected to a server pc and using Ham Radio Deluxe for remote control via wifi on a laptop. Audio was done with a small program called Tonecast. Worked great. There are already a few options nowadays fo...

Re: Very good for the money and no problems at all here.

Hi Noel, sorry about late reply but I just now saw this. To answer - I see no center spike at all wiyh HDSDR and sometimes just a tiny one with SDR# but it isn't always present.

Re: Using your SDRPlay RSPx as a Spectrum Analyzer for testing

Yes, the signal generator output is directly connected to the RSPx antenna input. Maximum input level is about -30dbm before artifacts start showing. An external step attenuator can be used for higher levels if needed.
