Yes, ANT500 works perfectly with SDRPlay
I've tested it with FM (88-108MHZ) and some parts of VHF-UHF (120-600MHZ) with good results.
(Its frequency support is advertised as 75-1000MHZ and I haven't tested it with more than 600MHZ)

The API works on the Mac as we have customers developing with it. The gr-osmosdr library is still being worked on but does work on Linux. gr-osmosdr on Mac isn't something we've been able to test yet.
