Re: SDRPlay TCXO?
OK, it's sorted. Under a magnifying glass and a ten-billion watt lamp, I could see that one of the c's was fractured. I didn't have any 18pf smd caps, but a 15 pf leaded part got the frequency to within 100 Hz. After a re-tweak of the frequenc trim setting, the strange offset has now gone away. Job ...

Re: SDRPlay TCXO?
Ah - I've been having a prod around and discovered that the xtal osc is running at 24.006 MHz. As this osc provides the reference for the synth(?), I'm assuming this could be the problem. Most likely c65 or c66 has died, probably as a result of my rather rough handling when re-housing the PCB in a b...

Re: SDRPlay TCXO?
Thanks for the quick reply. Here's what I do: 1. Set sig gen (Marconi 2024) to 109 MHz. 2. Start SDR#. Set the tuning cursor to somewhere on the left of display. 3. Dial up 109.000000 MHz on SDR#. 4. Either - select SSB and trim oscillator for zero beat OR select AM and trim osc for peak in centre o...

Re: SDRPlay TCXO?
One thing that puzzles me is that there seems to be a discrepancy in the exact tuned frequency depending on 'where' you do it. If I trim the oscillator (via the EXTIO panel) with the test frequency at one end of the displayed spectrum, it is a few tens/hundreds of Hz out when I check it at the other...

Re: SDRlay not recognized after update
I had exactly the same problem. After noting that the new version was available, I decided to uninstall the old version(s) and start from scratch. I did it all in exactly the same way as I have always done, but it would not work. The EXTIO would not appear in the drop down menu in SDR#, no sign of i...

Re: Laptop For sdrplay
Hi Scooby. I used to run my SDRplay on my modest laptop that had a P6200 processor at 1.3 GHz with 2 GB of memory. It worked well at all spans under 5 MHz. Going over that caused it to stutter. I now have a new (actually secondhand from Cash Converters!) laptop with an I-3 processor clocked at 2.4 G...
Re: Decode
The internal mixer of windows does the trick. It is buildin windows so no additinal software to pipe the audio is needed Hi ON4ALL. I'm using WIN7 professional on LENOVO T410. I never succeeded in doing that with ms win mixer (I'm currently using vb-cable) Can you please post some hint how to do it...

New version of SDRPlay?
Twitter rumour doing the rounds that there's a new version soon, one that has no gaps. Is this true or just another piece of fan hysteria?

Re: EXTIO V2.1 Well done!
Yes, 2.1 is a welcome improvement, especially the narrower spans without the cramped-up display. I have the same problem with tuning out of band - my laptop gets all sulky.

Re: One Major Issue with New SDR# VER 2.0 ExtIO
I get the same effect. As I tune abouve 2 GHz, the receiver stops working (as expected), but dialling back to below 2 GHz and re-starting SDR# just causes an 'out of range, hardware not initialised' message (or words to that effect). At this point, everything runs very slowly and the only way out is...
