Tips for Reducing Images
Over the last month there have been numerous posts on this Forum and on Facebook about RSP users having image, "ghost" and spurious problems. In this post I will attempt to outline some of the reasons this occurs and a few tips on how to get better performance out of your RSP. The RSP is not a direc...

Re: SDR UNO and Logging Apps
I like com0com. It installs as a permanent driver so you don't have to start it each time like VSPE. Available here. https://sourceforge.net/projects/com0com Here is an interesting app note on using the RSP as a panadapter. https://www.sdrplay.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/171011PanadapterGuide.pdf...

Re: Enough protection with antenna switch?
I have my RSP connected to the same antenna as my transceiver using a Daiwa manual antenna switch. The isolation value of this switch is 60 dB, according to the specs. When I use my transmitter (max. 100 W.) I see an alarming strong signal on SDR Uno: S9+50 dB. I did not expect such a strong signal...

Re: SDRPLAY RSP2 config witht RIGEXPERT TI-7
Charlie, In Windows only one program is allowed access to a hardware COM port at a time. So if you connect to your TS2000 via RigXpert on COM3: with Omni-Rig you will be denied access to COM3 by N1MM plus. That is what you are seeing now. One way around this is to use a port splitter program like VS...

Re: SDRPLAY RSP2 config witht RIGEXPERT TI-7
If you take a look at the SDRUno manual (pages 45-49) you will see that you have two ways to communicate with radios and other programs. 1. Using Omni-Rig. With Omni-Rig each VRX can talk to one external radio or a program emulating a radio protocol. Since Omni-Rig can talk to tow radios you can hav...

Re: MW Breakthrough
I suggest you join the Facebook SDRPlay and SDRUno groups. There has been a lot of discussion and technical solutions recently about what to do if you live near AM transmitters. You can use the search function in the groups to get all the historical posts. https://www.facebook.com/groups/sdrplay/ ht...

Re: Newbie RF frontend protection Qs
A few questions. 1. Is this remote location near transmitters? If so at what distance, how much power and what frequency. 2. Do you have lightning in your area? If so you will need lightning protection for close by strikes. Nothing will protect you in the event of a direct hit. 3. How are you going ...

Re: RSP1A use as panadapter
Hi Roger, I asppear to have it working with SDR Uno. I cant quite get my old head around it. This is new technology to me. IU am using an elecraft K3 if you are familiar with that radio. Utilising the IF output at 8.215 Mhz. II can hear CW signals on the RSP1A and the waterfall clearly displays the...

Re: SDR play connected via IF out and transmit
I have my RSP1 connected to the RX antenna output of my TS590SG without any protection. No problems so far. I also tested with an active whip antenna connected directly to my RSP1. The whip delivers about 10 dBm when I transmit. This might be considered dangerous, but no problems so far. Transmit p...
