Re: general audio output tone control

Most soundcards (even the onboard ones) offer the capability of tone control (bass/treble) as well as special effects. If you can hear the audio in your speakers or headphones no additional patching should be required.

Re: Newbie problem with Windows 10 machine

You can launch Resource Monitor from Task Manager. Click on the Performance Tab in TM, the Shortcut is at the lower left side of the window, I have had problems in the past with audiodg.exe (Windows Audio Device Graph Isolation) causing high cpu usage.

Re: VFO & LO for dummies

I always use low-if on HF and LF. Compare the two while tuned to around 300 khz at night when MW broadcasts are strongest. Images everywhere on zero-if.

Re: RSP2 operating and/or Bias-T supply on over a long time

That crossed my mind as I was writing my reply. The problem may be as simple as a bad connection in the feedline. A common and sometimes difficult to find problem when it is intermittent. Good luck.

Re: SDRPlay RSP1 & SDR#?

If that's the case then why would anyone want to buy this product?

Re: RSP2 operating and/or Bias-T supply on over a long time

Susan, I was curious about your issue with the RSP2. I have an RSP2 that I use for satellite reception also. I use SDR Sharp to take advantage of it's QPSK Meteor plugin. The EXTio interface is required to communicate between SDRSharp and the RSP2. My LNA is inline powered and does not require the B...

Re: signal at 8.693 mHz

I ran a speed measurement on this signal around 01:30Z. It appeared to be 100 baud. And of course the shift was 850hz. Shortly thereafter it went down. It probably shifted to a night freq.
In my experience most, but not all, of the non-ham FSK nowadays is encrypted.

Good luck.

Re: Antenna Recommendation for L.E.O LRPT

About 15 (or more) years ago I built a QFH for the 137 MHz band from a broomstick, some plastic rods, 75 ohm coax and a few cable ties to hold the coax in place. The hardest part was soldering the steel coax shield. I had to use acid core solder. Used an inline TV signal booster as an LNA. It's moun...
