Nice to hear that your RSP is OK. Aahh. The method...arcosine wrote:I found the problem. My expensive Teflon jacketed coax from the transformer to ant port had a short in it. I fixed it by the method.. I connected the power supply across it, spark, no more whiskers. Its working now.

Re: RSP1A Longwave sensitivity
That 6 volts is the unloaded antenna, before the 8:1 transformer, so the voltage at the 1a is less than 320 mV rms is <3 dBm with a 50 ohm load. 0 dBm? Thats 1 milliwatt. Well this 1a is headed for the trash can, POS. Your other post said 60 V p-p on the antenna so it must have been a typo. At 3 dB...

Re: 60v p-p rf
In the other thread (longwave sensitivity) you mentioned 6 volts P-P and possible damage to your RSP. I posted the safe levels for the RSP there.arcosine wrote:I put a scope on my long antenna and it reads 60 volts peak to peak RF from local AM stations.

Re: RSP1A Longwave sensitivity
Well my 1a was working great, but now its not. Its almost deaf. I though it was the antenna but I checked it several times and its seems OK with the yesau 450d. theres 6 volts p-p Rf from local stations. ........ Could the 1a be stuck in high conversion mode? There is no switch in the Cubicsdr prog...

Re: Having Trouble Connecting to USB
There are several users that have converted an old mouse to a tuning wheel. They take out the mouse electronics, buy a cheap encoder from ebay and machine or buy a tuning knob. Several discussions about it on the SDRplay Facebook group and there may be something in the forum here if you do a search....

Re: Multiple demodulators
Yes, I need 3 simultaneously. With CubicSDR I haven't figured out how to get more than 1. I don't have a windows license and I don't want one, so a virtual machine isn't an option. You can run a Virtual Machine without a Windows license. Microsoft has free 90 day Virtual Machine versions of Windows...

Re: Multiple demodulators
CubicSDR can have multiple channels, cross platform support. CubicSDR can have multiple channels but the last time I looked only one channel can be active at a time. Is that still the case with the latest release? Hermit didn't say if he needs the channels running concurrently (multiple active, vir...

Re: Multiple demodulators
Two options I know of...
- Run a Virtual Machine like Virtual Box or VMware (free) to run Windows on top of Linux. Then use SDR Console or SDRuno.
- Use GNURadio and "build" your own multiple receiver

Mike, Thanks for the reply. Sounds like you have a quiet site like mine if you can run the RF gain 1 notch below max on the HiZ port. I heard that the PA0RDT works well at low frequencies. Do you pickup much man-made noise on the coax shield? Maybe your outside ground helps to lower the level. Roger
