Re: Testing RSPduo receiver sensitivity with noise generator

Sorry: the system did not let me post additional files. Here they are. To conclude the tests have demonstrated excellent sensitivity in all HF bands, considering that the minimum detectable signal is always at or below 0.14microvolts. ERRATA CORRIGE: Please note that the final single attenuator valu...

Testing RSPduo receiver sensitivity with noise generator

After reading the excellent articles of this thread: http://www.sdrplay.com/community/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=1562 I purchased one specimen of the wideband noise generator described therein in order to test the RSPduo receiver sensitivity at the various inputs and to set up reference data which would al...

Re: Best settings for a slow laptop

Hi John, You obtain the smallest load on the PC system by keeping the value in the SR window to 2 (minimum bandwith) and the highest value possible in the Decimation window. Since you wish to run a contest, where a system stop would make you lose a lot of time, please be aware that prolonged system ...

Re: SDR UNO + RSPduo + Decimation window

My PC set-up is as follows: Lenovo X61 Laptotp PC Intel Core Duo (2) CPU 7300 T 7300 @ 2 GHz Installed RAM: 3 GHz O.S.: Windows 7 PRO It seems to me that the RSPduo, used normally with just one front end, loads the PC system significantly less than I experienced with the RSP2pro. Never the less here...

Re: SDR UNO + RSPduo + Decimation window

Thank you for the prompt reply. However, after having entered a frequency directly by keyboard, still the decimation / SR windows did not appear. I then operated a re-set to default settings and the missing windows came up again. It appears the SDR UNO software got stuck somehow, but was easily put ...

SDR UNO + RSPduo + Decimation window

Feeling a little foolish......Just received the RSPduo, downloaded & installed SDR UNO V 1.23: all works fine, save for the DECIMATION WINDOW: sometimes it appears on its own, but most times it does not show up at all....am I MISSING SOMETHING?

Re: Newbie RF frontend protection Qs

Dear Stryker, In my opinion and according to my experience you do well to be worried about possible damage to the RSP inputs due to static discharges. 1) The Balanced input, if directly connected to a raw long wire antenna could be subjected to very high induced voltages caused by far away lightning...

Re: RSP Spectrum analyser software available shortly

This is a fantastic development & very good news. I am a retired filter specialist and wish to develop passive bandpass filters for the RSP's, but unfortunately my old Takeda (with built - in tracking gen) passed away and sorely needs a replacement. Keep up the good works!

HOW ABOUT A TRACKING GENERATOR?

The RSP series of processors, together with SDRuno or othyer equivalent software makes for an excellent SPECTRUM ANALYSER. If a companion TRACKING GENERATOR was available or Teven tracking generators for definite bands, we wuold have a budget priced, but extremely effective SWEEPER FACILIY which wou...
