Re: RSP1A Longwave sensitivity

Wow Roger, I didn't realise the 1-a was so far behind the other models at LF. I wonder why this is? I find my RSP2 is very good all the way down into the VLF range, although it does need a 100 kHz LPF to keep out LW images. gihbe, The RSP1A will work down to 1 kHz. but was not optimized for operati...

Re: IF INPUT

Yes SDRplay works at this IF. Have you tried using the SDRplay in non-IF mode and tuned around 3180 kHz. while plugged into the IF jack on the Yaesu?

Re: RSP1A Longwave sensitivity

The RSP1A does not perform as well on LF as the RSP2 and the RSPduo when using a poor antenna. This is because the RSP1A has a higher noise floor. See screenshots below (same antenna - an HF G5RV) That said you can still get some signals by doing the following. 1. Turn off the LO Lock and set to Low...

Re: VFO-B indication and control?

You do not mention what type of rig you have and that will determine how well it works with an SDR. SDRuno, HDSDR and SDR-Console all use the free OmniRig program to communicate with external radios. OmniRig uses individual .ini configuration files for most popular radios. These were created by volu...

Re: Sure hard to get sdr-uno running and learn how to setup rigs on rsp2

The user manual has a section covering how to set up SDRuno to work with an external rig. There are also several videos on the SDRplay YouTube channel. Here are a few pointers to get you going. 1. Setup OmniRig with the two receivers and make sure you use the recommended baud rate, parity and number...

Re: MFJ Noise cancelling pre-amp

People have had good luck with these units and with the Timewave ANC-4. An SDR like the RSP will work with this unit just as well as the receiver in a ham rig. However I suggest you first look at how you can reduce the level of noise coming into your RSP. If the antenna is too close to your home you...

Re: Binaural Reception ?

Yes .... That's the idea .... My 'problem' is that I am unaware of a way to then be able to tune the two VRX's at the same time. I went looking to see if there was some other software that could sample signals coming from an SDRplay receiver but all that I've managed to do so far is to get HDSDR to...

Re: RSP2 Pro Bonding

Mike,

Thanks for posting this. Very interesting and I will have to check my RSP's.

What were the frequencies where you saw the moist noise and reduction?

Re: SDRUno Ready for Diversity RX With SDRDuo?

@ Tech support and development. In May I bought the RSPduo in the hope of finally getting diversion reception running after 3 years waiting in vain with the Afedri AFE822x, which has also 2 receivers and never gained the software folow-up that it needed. SDRnerd Afedri never did their own implement...

Re: SDRUno Ready for Diversity RX With SDRDuo?

I am interested in monitoring the phase change between the streams carrying "continuously" changing signals. Would it possible/intended to have a phase output file for these data? If you don't need this in real-time you can do this via post-processing. Just have tuner 1 output the audio on the left...
