New Computer - SDRUno and other software? AMD/Celeron?
New Computer - SDRUno and other software? AMD/Celeron?
I've seen a few old posts - most recently back in Feb looking at min specs for SDRUno but also SDR in general. I've just purchased an RSPDuo.
Anyone having good luck with either the AMD or Celeron level processors or am I better of sticking with the mid i5/i7s dual core with 64b and as much ram as I can pack in?
looking at the cheap new laptops vs a small desktop in the "minimal dollar" category.

If you can afford it, go with an i3, i5 or i7. Celerons are a bit 'bargain basement' and don't have very much puff. More memory is always a good thing and a decent PC will probably come with 8 or 12 GB.
I run SDRUno on an i3 and an i5 and it works fine, although I rarely go above about 6 MHz bw. My elderly Pentium 6200 (1 GB) runs SDR Uno fine up to about 6 MHz but after that it stutters & sticks.

That’s what I was guessing would be the case but just didn’t know.
