Unwanted signal on FM from a local station

Post by Patrick73 » Thu Apr 18, 2019 12:51 pm

Hi there !

Help needed !

On 88.1, I clearly get a "ghost signal" from a 100W transmitter, located about 1km from home (actual frequency : 103.9).

Of course, I lowered the RF gain : No effect (no effect means : either I still hear the unwanted station or nothing at all)
I set the IF AGC to manual and tried to set it properly : no effect
I switched from LIF to ZIF : no effect
I tried to move this annoying ghost station to differents places, from the left to the right of the spectrum window, to avoid possible non-linearity issue due to to other loud station within the waterfall selection (this sometimes helps) : no effect

NOTE : using my other SDR (HF+), no such trouble : the 'true' station on 88.1 is weak but perfectly readable running basic / defaults settings.

Is there something else I could try using SDRuno parameters / tools ?

Thanks a lot.

Looks like it's not possible to edit my message and add a comment ... (still have the "2 polls" message).

Forgot to mention, I'm using a RSPduo + Uno 1.31 on a W10 desktop.
Yagi antenna and quality cable.

You seem to have tried most of the dodges. Usually moving the spectrum sideways will cause a spurious signal to shift out of the way (assuming it really is a spurious generated in the receiver). Have you tried altering the sample rate/decimation?
