Scanner locks out RX window?

Post by someYguy » Tue Aug 06, 2019 10:33 pm

Hi all,

I've noticed when running SDRuno that when the scanner is running - even in mem mode - the RX window is locked out and no adjustments such as audio volume nor squelch can be adjusted. Also, the RX window cannot be moved, minimized nor closed.

Stopping the scanner doesn't return control of the RX window. But stopping & restarting via the Play button on the main window does.

Is this by design or ?. Would be handy to be able to adjust volume & squelch while scanning. Maybe I'm doing something wrong? Any help appreciated, thank you :).

Just to clarify a little "Pause" is not stop.
Only the square button is "Stop."
If you read the caption on the "paused" scanner control window it will clarify this for you.
However, you can of course control volume at least independently via your computer's native volume control.
I believe that it is explained in the user manual.
I would have posted a screenshot - but system not playing at the moment.

Hi Paul, thanks for reply.

Yes, I do understand the difference between "Pause" & "Stop". But that is not what I'm saying. To clarify:

Anytime the scanner is being used, paused or not, the RX panel is locked out. Cannot be moved. Controls on RX panel do not work.

In order to restore access to the RX panel, it is necessary to click the "STOP" button on the MAIN panel, and then restart. But if you then restart (or unpause) the scanner, then RX panel is once again locked out. Pausing the scanner will not restore RX panel. Only the main STOP button.

I stand corrected. I just noticed another stop button on the scanner panel. If I click on that one, it does stop the scanner and give me access to the RX panel settings. Then I can adjust volume and squelch as needed :).

Apologies, I could have been clearer.
