Re: sdrplay
Dear Leon,
Different people have different views as to which of these SDR packages is superior. We don't have a strong opinion ourselves, but it seems that on balance the majority seem to have a preference for HDSDR over SDR sharp. For the more experienced user, SDR Console appears to be very popular, but its support for the RSP lags a little behind HDSDR and SDR sharp.
If you are a Facebook user, you might want to pose this question on the public forum for the SDRplay RSP at:

Sincerely
SDRplay Tech_Support

Re: sdrplay
If you are an FM-DXer SDR sharp has more to offer as 1) when linked to RDSSpy via VAC the RDS sensitivity is better 2) there are high speed frequency scanners / activity loggers as plug-ins and various other performance enhancing plug-ins.
The only way of deciding is to try both extensively. I've used HDSDR a lot for the first few months, then when a couple of updates became available in SDR# I tried them and now don't use HDSDR. Each one is quite easy to download and install - but you need to do a bit more work to add additional feaures to SDR#.

Re: sdrplay
Hi
I use a lot of various softwares with SDRplay:
SODIRA for DRM ,C-QUAM ,Synchronous AM reception and ,I hope time signals from DCF77, decoding
SDRsharp for storing various AM/FM frequencies in memories, waterfall and spectrum display and I/Q or audio recordings
HDSDR for feeding FM RDS informations to RDSspy via a 192Khz Virtual Audio Card
FM-DAB radio from Mirics to decode DAB
VLC with a *.m3u playlist to receive DVBT
Softwares are like antennas, you cannot expect a universal one.
And there is a huge choice.
