Bias-t voltage
Bias-t voltage
The bias-T supplies a voltage of some 5v to connected equipment. I mainly use a mini-whip antenna and that does not work at 5v -not properly anyway. A voltage of 9 to 12 v would be more usefull...

And certainly more difficult and costly to be generated from a 5 V USB voltage.PD1ET wrote:A voltage of 9 to 12 v would be more usefull...

Re: Bias-t voltage
There are miniwhip designs with low voltage operation. Beware that the current limit is only 45 mA on the bias-T!

Re: Bias-t voltage
I think the reason for the 5V bias voltage is understandable.
As someone mentioned there are lower voltage circuits of the mini-whip https://www.g8jnj.net/activeantennas.htm
