I´m new to SDR and by reading the manual and youtube I see that some of the receivers have
bandwith switch enabling them to scan 10 mhz bandwith on the screen.I have RSP1a that does
not have the SR(mhz) box to tick in and change the bandwith still I see The RSP1a being
advertised in magazines as having up to 10mhz of SR bandwith as the others receiver.

I don't own an RSP1-a (I'm currently using a DUO) but if it operates in the same way, you will only get the SR button if you select ZERO IF mode. Press the button and select 10 MHz SR and use the DEC button to get 1. This should put 10 MHz of spectrum on the display. Selecting DEC 2 will reduce it to about 5 MHz and so on down to lower bandwidths.

If you use 'Low IF' mode, I think the max b/w is 2 MHz and the DEC button reduces it in the same way.

Thanks for the answer
This worked.Strange I thought I had read the manual 2-4 times without seeing this
but just when I saw your answer I was reading issues of Radio user on the web
where they were testing the RSP duo and there was a comment on exactly the same thing
