OK which of these antennas too use

Post by geraldw321 » Sun Apr 23, 2017 9:17 pm

Hi everyone. so i had too install windows 7(barf)dual boot with my linux))and have sdruno, hdsdr, sdr# installed and running in win7. I want as much freq coverage as i can get for general listening/scanning.
i have a active mini-whip, a tram discone (installed too setup/test install and software), and a par end-fedz 45ft longwire i can setup as a sloper, which 2 would be best for the most coverage??
i have the tram on input A for testing but for final setup i think miniwhip on hi-z and par on input A would work for best coverage?

Yes? no? maybe so?

Don't put the miniwhip on Hi-Z if it's designed for VHF or higher because the Hi-Z input is designed for 30Mhz and lower. It would make more sense to put the sloper on Hi-Z, but you have to make sure it's matched for Hi-Z. The Discone, I would assume is also a VHF-UHF antenna, so it can be on A or B.
