Windows 10 Screen Timeout Freezes SDRuno App
Windows 10 Screen Timeout Freezes SDRuno App
I use Windows 10 on a Surface Pro 3 to run the SDRuno app. When the screen times out, the SDRuno app freezes and I cannot get it restarted. My fix has been to kill the SDRuno app and restart it. I have confirmed that disabling the Windows 10 screen saver keeps the SDRuno app from freezing. Is there a way to unfreeze the app without having to kill it and restart it?
I do not see this screen saver problem when running HDSDR and SDRConsole. After the screen times out, I just hit the mouse button and the app comes back.

I don't suspect this to be a screen saver issue but sounds like USB power management is enabled. Follow the steps outlined here.

I have selective suspend enabled and have never had an issue with it. The author in the link you provided writes that :I don't suspect this to be a screen saver issue but sounds like USB power management is enabled. Follow the steps outlined here.
In fact selective suspend has been around since Windows XP and is part of the USB 2.0 standard. After upgrade to Windows 10 there is a feature that’s introduced to allow the OS to selectively suspend the USB ports.
Could it be caused by something else?

I turned off the USB power option as described in the link. The screen timeout still freezes the SDRuno app.

So simply remove the screen-saver and just let it turn off the screen.
Also check the power-management in the advanced settings, it may reduce everything to minimal and not just turn off the screen.
Does that help?

According to Mirics the SDRPlay USB chipset supports suspend mode:

Not mentioning any names but I can see a prime suspect for this hang.I do not see this screen saver problem when running HDSDR and SDRConsole. After the screen times out, I just hit the mouse button and the app comes back.
