Post by TimChgo9 » Sun May 05, 2019 12:31 am

Can the SDR Play RSP2 decode Motorola P25 digital radio transmissions?

Like most other receivers the RSP2 can receive ANY mode, but it can only decode them with the help of third-party software (like DSD+). Once you've got your RSP2 running satisfactorily in analogue modes, you can download and install DSD+ to do the decoding. You will also need something called a 'virtual audio connection' to link the two programs. I think there are some 'how to' videos on You Tube.

Here's a couple of videos which show how to set up DSD+ decoding:

https://youtu.be/Z0YVWtIl6mU - YouTuber Knoxieman details how to use the SDRplay RSP1A (or any SDR) to decode DMR digital signals using the external DSDplus decoder in SDRuno, He also shows a super fast way of switching in to DMR mode when using SDRuno by using macro recording software, this same basic process works with all SDRplay receivers

Plus our own Mike, talks through the process (this video is using an older version of SDRuno) https://youtu.be/dNDmYHuIVj8

Check out all the videos and documentation we have indexed, by going to our Apps and Support Catalogue at https://www.sdrplay.com/apps-catalogue/

As well as our main YouTube channel on https://www.youtube.com/c/SDRplayRSP , Mike has started a sister channel especially for newcomers to SDRuno. The focus is on HF and lower, but Mike is open to suggestions for new videos in the short term. It's called SDRhamguides and can be found at: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCFqL7r ... B0QESJLcqw
