Anyone know when CubicSDR is set to leave "alpha" code?

@MiamiC70, my guess, just based on industry experience, not as someone with any knowledge of CubicSDR in particular, is that it will leave alpha when it's feature-complete. If you look at the roadmap linked earlier in this thread, there are still significant areas of functionality to develop.

Therefore my question. It's been a while since last release.

I would recommend checking http://cubicsdr.com for updates and you can also contact the developer to find out the roadmap status.

Best regards,

I know that Charles has mentioned an upcoming 0.2 release; I wouldn't worry too much about the fact that it's been 11 days since his most recent release. He's probably focusing on 0.2, which I would expect would tick off some big items on the roadmap. And 11 days doesn't seem very long to me; I have SDR software packages that haven't seen releases in years and still have some gaping holes.

Is 0.2.0-beta-rc6 the latest version?

Why can't this thing just automatically check for updates like most software in the last 10 years :(

...because that's a security hole the size of a barn door?

The first thing I do with any piece of software is to disable its ability to phone home. I do this in the software itself, if possible, and in my firewall as well. I do this because if some nefarious person gets control of their web site (happens all the time), I could suddenly have someone else's software running on my computer. Your mileage may vary.

Come on it "could" happen but auto update is the norm and works just fine.
