Re: ZeusRadio may soon be compatile with SDRPLay
Dear sdrplay support team,
can you please write a short recap on this subject (ZeusRadio) addressing the following (e.g.)
-- current support of sdrplay / current degree of compatibility
-- plan for future enhancements
-- availability of free version/trial version (approximate cost of the license if needed)
-- what do I need to work with sdrplay (e.g. install extio plugin V. x.y.z or whatever...)
tnx!

Re: ZeusRadio may soon be compatile with SDRPLay
Hello all.
Zeus Radio don't work on my WIN764.
I downloaded ZeusRadio setup 2.9.1 EN
the run the setup
then installed ext_io dll in the ZeusRadio dir
then I launch the ZR shortcut "EXT_IO"
The ZR icon shows for a while, then disappears and nothing more...
Any suggestions?

Re: ZeusRadio may soon be compatile with SDRPLay
The last I chatted with Yan (the Zeus Radio developer) I explained what was supported in the ExtIO plugin and he said he would look at the code, but I haven't seen another version since then. I did ask him about it about a week ago, but he said he was working on something else. So we'll have to wait for him to come back with another version.
Best regards,
SDRplay Support

TNX rgood123
I'll check the pre-reqs you mention.
Can you confirm ZeusRadio version to install is 2.9.1 EN ?

I had .net framework 4.5.2 so I installed 4.6
I already had c++ 2010 redist x86 (10.0.40219)
I downloaded and installed zeus radio 2.9.1 EN
I installed in the same dir sdrplay ext IO 2.8.3
But do not work.
TNX all the same

Re: ZeusRadio may soon be compatile with SDRPLay
It is a nice looking program but IMO really not any better than the others which are available to us. And I don't mind buying software if its something useful to me but for $50 USD I don't see any real gains here and it has a long way to go before full RSPx support.....

Re: ZeusRadio may soon be compatile with SDRPLay
After the ZS1 transceiver hadn't brought the expected success they guys tried to bring in some money by selling the ExtIO and HPSDR version of Zeusradio. First they distributed free test versions in various forums and collected user reports. Then all of a sudden the "final" version was no longer free. But the development is still far behind. Many ExtIO dlls do not work properly, some do not work at all.
Sorry to say this: But the guys are a bit lost in space.

Re: ZeusRadio may soon be compatile with SDRPLay
Just my 2 cents and my opinion. I would rather have function vs eye candy
Zeus works "OK" with my ELAD S2...Yes I did buy it. No it's not worth the $50.00
What function does Zeus have that the other frontends don't have?
A pretty palette? (NO)
Amazing Noise reduction (NO)
Works with everything (NO)
Easy to use? (NO)
Reduced CPU load (NOT AT ALL)
This is just another frontend in the library of frontends that is not ready for prime time.
This is just my opinion because I own it and use it. Maybe it will be better who knows.
I have spoken to Yan many many times, It's not about the $$$. He is very passionate about his frontend but it's just not ready to be sold.
