Alternative to Spyserver

Post by jonfear » Mon Nov 20, 2017 2:11 pm

Good afternoon all, New RSP1A user here.

I well understand the "issues" with regards to Spyserver support of the RSP range of radios. I wonder if the software team has any plans to write their own version of Spyserver for use with their products?

I will be trying to use the RSP1A remotely and so a software solution would be preferred. I do have a USB extension solution but do not really want to go down that route...

Any thoughts?

Thanks

Jon

I have indeed tried SDR Console and love it however the v3 system does not have the server side available yet. It would appear that the v2 version has now been taken down as well.

The other issue is that the software is Windows based and my requirement is for a Linux based solution. Linux handles server side software so much more efficiently than Windows and requires less resources, especially when used without a GUI.

Jon,

SDR Console V2 has not been "taken down", it's available here:

http://www.sdr-radio.com/Software/Downloads

Do a search on that page for "V2.3 Release build 2760"

Did you ever come up with a way to sue the RSP1a remotely ?

I currently have an RTL-SDR dongle on a Pi3 running rtl_tcp in my attic at home and using iPhone app SDRReceiver I can access my RTL-SDR worldwide.

Just bought an RSP1a to improve on my reception but I can't find a way to use the RSP1a with either SpyServer or rtl_tcp

I don't want access when I am at home on local network, I am just looking for remote access when i am away from home (via Dynamic DNS No-ip ).

Yes I can do it now with the RTL USB but wanted to use the RSP1a instead
