Posting in internet forums has become not-nice.

I posted two articles on this forum some time ago which resulted in a tirade of anonymous emails sent to my private email address by a totally irrational person who ended up threatening me with just about everything he/she could think of and who submitted my email address to every spam-bot on the planet.

The level of animosity was personal and threatening and I was told it was because I had suggested or implied that mains earthing was a bad thing because it contributed to RFI and that I was encouraging people to break the law.

I've still no idea who it was and I'm not implying it was anyone on this thread and or on this forum, it was likely one of those people who doesn't join things or participate but who reads and rages in their own mental cages.

This is my first post since then, so to the people on this thread please beware of any discussion of mandatory or non-mandatory earths or you may end up like I did.

Sheesh one needs to be careful: sdrom33, please don't think the opening line of my post above was directed at you, it was to my stalker who has hopefully moved on. You echoed my own thoughts re. long posts in general and I can't see that you have said anything that was not meant to be constructive and helpful. It's a shame so many things end in tears these days.

PHIL, DEAR PHIL, YOU ARE BACK AT LAST!!!

You made us worry with your sudden absence and there were worrying news about your health and that you risked losing one eye, then nothing more. I am glad to know you are still with us, and also many will be happy at these good news.

Keep well & take care!

Gianfranco

Hi Gianfranco!!

Nice to say hello in return to such a welcome! Apart from a fortnight of painful eye problems I've never left, I just never posted, so I've read everything pretty much daily including all your interesting articles, thank you for all of them and to everyone else.

My RSP2 and RSP1A having been humming along splendidly, in fact the RSP2 has been taking out the daily WSPR challenge on 30m for quite some time now, a feather in the cap to SDRplay ... and a decent antenna ;-)
