Re: installing liquid-dsp problem
Congratulations Ron, can I ask a favour, feel free to say no but I don't know enough to help myself with this. As mentioned my Pi4 is polling my LAN every second, the polled addresses include 224.0.0.251 all-systems.mcast.net all local IP addresses on my LAN Checking them out it appears as though th...

Re: Best antenna no good signals?
Hi Bas, I like G5RV antennas and I'm sincerely 100% with you in advocating for people to go out and build one so please don't think I'm out to somehow discredit them or you, if there have to be sides then I'm on your side! I felt safe posting that article because it makes pains to point out Both are...

Re: DCF 77 77.5KHZ
Why doesn't DCF 77 use a miniwhip? What antennas does DCF 77 use? Screen Shot 2019-07-20 at 8.45.06 am.png If you made a whip just a bit longer than a miniwhip it would pick up a bit more of DCF 77's signal would it not? And if you made it a bit longer still it would pick up a bit more, and so on. A...

Re: Best antenna no good signals?
Good idea Bas.
A bit more info here on the G5RV and a lesser known but definite contender which is also slightly shorter and is no less a performer which is a bit of a surprise, the ZS6BKW

Re: DCF 77 77.5KHZ
That's good work and deserves commending. Here's what a large wide bandwidth loop can do; all the paths shown are for stations transmitting at 200 milliwatts or less and all were received in the last 24 hours. Three receivers were running at once all connected to the one antenna. The green 20m paths...

Re: Diversity- Signal or Noise Canceling
You're all making me very envious. Some time ago living by the sea for quite a few years, except during periods of rain there was continuous HF and even VHF noise generated by electrical discharges across all the power line insulators. I built several unsuccessful noise reducing devices that combine...

Re: installing liquid-dsp problem
I've got Cubic, Gqrx and WSJT-X all running on my newly arrived Pi4B/4 with RSP2 and RSP1A but it took a bit of effort loading missing bits. Haven't tried running Soapy remote but it was installed along the way. Buster puts them in funny places in the menu, Gqrx is in "internet", wsjtx is in "Sound ...

Re: virtual audio routing
Soundflower on Mac is an inter-application sound router, I've been using it for many years and while it has not been updated and is now public domain and a little tricky to install it works really well and is simple to use as it is accessible from the Mac sound control in Preferences and on the menu...

Re: Receive Antenna & Impedance "Matching"
Hi Gianfranco, sorry about the delay in replying to your other points, been choring. Thanks for you very kind offer regarding the crystals, while only a single crystal appears to give the required bandwidth, like a lot of other radio commodities we took for granted they have become very expensive. W...

Re: A FOOLPROOF ANTENNA SWITCH
I wonder how the MFJ-1708 antenna Tx/Rx switch (and it's variants) would stand up to the same level of scrutiny, relays included. Featuring prominently in these pages and with an application note on the SDRPlay site, no less! MFJ-1708.png I've several MFJ products in the shack and while they have be...
