Reception reports are far more informative when they include a location. Contrary to common conceptions in most international forums, not everyone uses Windows and not everyone lives in the U.S.A.

I heard that the PA0RDT works well at low frequencies. Do you pickup much man-made noise on the coax shield? Maybe your outside ground helps to lower the level. I've just spent two weeks near Dunkirk with a RSP2 connected to my Macbook Pro and an original PA0RDT Miniwhip in the garden on a 4 m fibe...

Re: MFJ Noise cancelling pre-amp
I've used a 1026, years ago, with conventional receivers in an urban environment and it saved me from giving up on HF radio altogether. I even opened mine up for the AM radio band by removing two inductors at the antenna inputs. With two Datong active antennas spaced by about 30 m it was quite good ...

Been to my favourite VHF location yesterday afternoon, at nearly 700 m ASL near the German/Belgian border, and was able to receive NRK (Norway), MDR (deep down in East Germany), and NDR in Northern Germany plus ...

Re: Radio Algeria - Longwave
Yeah, but Europe 1 are beaming towards France and I'm at the rear of their antenna diagram. Worse still, the attenuation is stronger for the carrier than for the sidebands so we get some odd kind of DSB signal from them. Not exactly easy on the ears unless you have a synchronous AM demodulator which...

Re: GQrx and/or SDRdx On A Mac ?
GQRX does work on some Macs and not on others on some weekdays and not on others and depending on the day's relative lunar humidity. The exact configurations, dates, and conditions can be determined by reading your coffee mud or tea leaves. On my current Macbook Pro (mid 2012, 10.12.6) GQRX only wor...

Here, it takes a hit on the Refresh button to make the SDRplay come up.
