Re: LW-MW-SW Relay Tuned 15' Noise Reducing Vertical Antenna
Hi Phil, Too bad your effort for analysing the proposed whip antenna has fallen on deaf ears. It is also too bad nobody thanked you for your work: on my part I gratefully thank you. I do not understand the reason why one should be offended if you presented a learned judgement warning that the antenn...

Re: LW-MW-SW Relay Tuned 15' Noise Reducing Vertical Antenna
I can see in Lankfort schematic a very good ground plane - that 4 to 8 foot long copper coated earth ground - the best ground plane etc. Etc...... Mike I really do not understand if this is just irony, just for laughs, or if you really believe in this nonsense you have written...You mean to state t...

Re: Antenna for LW
The US navy has been using VLF with giant antennas to communicate with submerged submarines since the sixties of last century. They have three sites around the world for this very purpose. Loop antennas are certainly more efficient in VLF than "relay tuned 15' noise reducing vertical antennas", even...

Re: LW-MW-SW Relay Tuned 15' Noise Reducing Vertical Antenna
Phil, You need a lot of real estate for a Delta Loop antenna. The example ground plane you show is tuned to just 7 MHz. The TCM promises wide band coverage, from 160 m to 6 m at least... zero gain is no problem if the location you are in is noisy above a certain level. So these are the plus consider...

Re: LW-MW-SW Relay Tuned 15' Noise Reducing Vertical Antenna
I have been considering this TCM design and planning to do it with 300 mm dia. PVC water pipes supporting a steel mesh. In this case a self supporting wide band antenna could be made with minimum expense and no external supports. Non resonant ground reflector could be made with conducting cloth chea...

We now have another example in the Antennas section.

Re: Audio stuttering despite low CPU
Hi Patrick again. It seldom happens, but it happens that the laptop battery becomes intermittent under certain loads. Then strange things show up, like the pc going suddendly to sleep or the display, yes the display stuttering... This occours in some laptops because the battery is parallel charged, ...

Re: LW-MW-SW Relay Tuned 15' Noise Reducing Vertical Antenna
This "antenna" design contradicts many, if not all, antenna principles anyone however superficially involved with radio communications should be aware of. Just to name a few. - If it is a ground plane it does not have the ground reflector. If it is not a ground plane, what is it? _ It is claimed to ...

Re: Audio stuttering despite low CPU
Patrick, hi again. I would get crazy if I had such a problem! You simply CANNOT have such a problem with an I7 PC!! Either the PC is faulty (virus maybe?) Or your installed SDRuno is corrupted. I had a similar problem not long ago. First go to the SDRuno folder in Programs & delete the API folder. T...

Re: Audio stuttering despite low CPU
Hi Patrick, some laptops have a battery saving provision that limits the speed (e.g. lower performance) when you are in battery mode. Then your setup works fine at small bandwidth, but when you attempt to increase the speed, the cpu just does not follow. Just check the battery management software. P...
