Re: Laptop For sdrplay

unless there is a way of say set up one of them in the loft &be able too control it from downstairs with a laptop You'll have to look up how to do it but remote access is pretty much a standard feature on Windows. When I was at work I had remote access to a PC hundreds of yards away - which was OK ...

Re: Laptop For sdrplay

A laptop with a 2.4 GHz processor could have an i-3 M370 processor - which has a benchmark of 2003 (cpubenchmark.net). I have a laptop with a dual core intel processor with a benchmark of 1800 and it ran SDRPlay OK on HDSDR. But using an RTLdongle with 1.024MHz sample rate and SDR # it needs 30-35% ...

Re: Multiple SDR# Instances

I have SDRPlay and 2 x R820T2 dongles - bought after the SDR Play. I use one RTL dongle permanently connected to my older laptop and my 5 ele FM yagi pointing south. Running RDSDatalogger with SDR# it moniotrs the bottom hlf of the band for SpE. Not as good as the SDRPlay of course but when I'm conc...

Re: F-connector or SMA - which is best?

Mine is wrapped in aluminium foil as well - I was thinking of asking the SRPlay team for a stick on logo :D It has made a lot of difference for supressing any spikiness. My one is an original blue/box/f-comnnector and the aluminium foil os firmly held in contact with the outer of the F-connector wit...

F-connector or SMA - which is best?

In my opinion changing to an SMA connector was not a good idea. Yes it puts it in line with other SDRs but what about the cable you are forced to use with it. RG58 or RG 59 has as a loss quoted around 6 dB per 100 ft at 100 MHz - and is the cable you would use with an SMA connector. BTW there are a ...

SDR Play/SDR# and TV Plug-in

Just for info. On rtl-sdr.ru with lots of useful extra plug-ins is one for TV - which allows you to receive analogue TV on Band I. I normally use it with my RTL dongle. It actually works nicely on SDRPlay with 1.536MHz/2.0MHz and 5.0/5.0MHz but not on 600/2.0MHz or lower bandwidth as no line lock is...

Re: Removing Zero IF Image signals in FM Broadcast Band

One thing worth saying is that another way of solving the problem is to change the center tuning frequency. and thus the offset of the desired station. True or you could also stay tuned to the centre frequency but if you are recording the RF signal during a strong opening then you do not not know w...

Re: Running two SDRPlay RSPs on one PC ?

"No Sale"then! It would be nice if it could be looked into as looks like it will have to be an FCPro+ because for the purpose of background scanning I don't need to see more than a single WFM channel. BTW I'm having very good success with the combination of SDRPlay, SDR#, Jrff Knapp's beta vrsion of...

Running two SDRPlay RSPs on one PC ?

What would I need to do in order to run two RSPs on one computer - other than buying the second one?

Thanks

Re: Multiple SDR# Instances

It might re-assure you to know that I am running the same set up as you are trying to achieve i.e. Windows 8.1, one instance of SDR# with an RTL-SDR dongle and one instance of SDR# running the SDRPlay. Each SDR# instance is in its own folder and for test purposes I actually have a total of four inst...
