Re: Using SDRPlay as RFI Finder
I think that SDRplay and other RTL dongles have a great advantage over various scanners for that purpose: Their manual gain control and wide dynamic range. Most FM receivers have no AGC at all. Big sensitivity and wide frequency range are precious too. I made a few experiments with magnetic loops as...

Re: Last Sdr Touch for Android
I was already impressed by SDRTouch that installed without any problems using some RTL dongles on the 3 Android devices I own. Those are : An OrangePI + device A tablet received as a gift A Zidoo X9 media player I clicked on the above driver link from my PC and surprise it proposed to install on the...

Re: SDRPLAY MSi2500
Thanks for this detailed information.
It explains the little success of the very few DVBT cards based on this device.

Re: SDRPLAY MSi2500
Nice link thanks.
I too noticed that decoding DVBT signals from the SDRPLAY was more stress for the PC CPU than from an RTLSDR.
But not having to change drivers for SDR use is an advantage.

Re: DVB-T with the SDRplay?
I had good results with VLC under Windows I think it exists for MAC.
You have to use a *.M3U file but my Window generated one worked for Linux with a RTL2832 dongle.
Maybe you can borrow a file from someone receiving the same DVB transmitters as you or edit one
with your exact frequencies.

Re: Spurious signals at low gain
Hi thanks for the explanation. I think it would be very helpful to have a more detailed schematic in the interface. Knowing what RF filter and local oscillator is used in real time would help understanding the results. Actually some parameters are hidden and we need to look in the documentation to u...

Re: SDRPlay and external sound card
With SDRplay the sound card is only used for output. You can use also the sound channel of an HDMI connection if you use a TV as display. A nice feature to find the best setup is playing back the same recording. If you suspect the various cables to radiate interference you can start a recording and ...

Re: A mixed bag, something good, something bad !
I agree that sometimes images can be a problem. To try to improve that would it be easy to use a different reference frequency instead of I believe 24MHz ? Say 28.8Mhz ,25 or 24.576 as in various other design. Of course it will shift the problem to other parts of the coverage but in some cases it co...

Re: Trouble getting started...
One thing that would be really helpful in general, is a document describing all of the various gain settings, targeted at someone new to the hobby Hi I hope that you will soon notice that due to the huge frequency range of the device and the various modes present in it this is almost an impossible ...

Re: Problem with the Gain Control setup in ExtIO 3.5
I too have a problem with the new EXTIO3.5. Using SDRsharper I cannot go below about 12.4MHz of center frequency tuning. I have a box saying "Warning out of range" This is with Wxp It seems OK with Window 7 /64 version 3.0 is OK in both cases. Same problem with sodira 0.99 I could use W7 but the dri...
