Re: SDRPlay lost SDR#-support ?
I hate it when new versions of softwares are actually less useful than the old ones. I should get used to it as each new versions of Windows obliged me to dump quite a lot of good hardware. Instead I stick to old ones and I'm happy that way :D Of course the author of a freeware is free to do what he...

Re: Unable to select Bandwidth INPUT sampling rate. Only OUTPUT rate.
I have been posting my observations and findings in using my SDRplay to work amateur satellites at: https://forums.qrz.com/index.php?threads/sdrplay-as-satellite-downlink-receiver.490793/ Nice topic. I agree that Wide band IQ recordings is the main advantage of SDR's. It allows careful studies of r...

Re: Gap Removal - Best SDR sub $200
I totally agree with this opinion. The gap has never been a big problem for me but as a side effect I noticed that in some cases the new OL frequencies helped to get rid off some surious responses. But I don't like the user's interface : too many interleaved boxes. Keeping everything in the main win...
Re: sdrplay
Hi I use a lot of various softwares with SDRplay: SODIRA for DRM ,C-QUAM ,Synchronous AM reception and ,I hope time signals from DCF77, decoding SDRsharp for storing various AM/FM frequencies in memories, waterfall and spectrum display and I/Q or audio recordings HDSDR for feeding FM RDS information...

Re: SDRPlay As Spectrum Analyzer
So if I understand this correctly, I will not be able to measure the level of the signal? In fact as contrary to most receivers in .1 to 1500 Mhz range the AGC can be totally disabled that can be done by using a generator of known level on a frequency close to the signal . Most of the time absolute...

Re: Filter Selection
I can confirm that the LO setting is used to determine which of the RF filters is selected. A 1 Hz resolution is used, so 11.999999 MHz setting will select the 0-12 MHz filter and 12 MHz will select the 12-30 MHz filter. Hi I think the usual way of paralel switching overlapping octave filters is wr...

Re: SDRplay and MW/LF Reception
I have had mixed results I think it lacks an input filter.May be a front end attenuator too In fact my results are very good in daytime and very poor at night. It is certainly due to the fact that I'm using an 80m dipole with a ferrite balun that introduce a lot of loss in LW and MW. When SDR play ...

Re: SDRPlay As Spectrum Analyzer
Hi As any SDR receiver SDRplay acts a lot as a spectrum analyser. It mainly lacks: Absolute amplitude calibration Input attenuator shielding sweep frequency range tracking generator Depending on the software used, It is (often much) better for : cost sensitivity frequency calibration power consumpti...

This depends of the RTL stick.
With the R820 tuner it is not.
With the ET4000 it is a problem.
On the other hand ET4000 has less and more prédictable spurious responses as it is zero IF.

Re: Broadcast FM duplicate image at +240mhz
Hi
As filter I had good results using a wall mounted TV/FM/SAT socket.
They are lowcost and easy to find .
My main problem was second order intermodulation products from the FM band falling in the DAB band.
I used an RTL dongle at the time.
