Re: sdr-console, no audio output on cw
This is one of the reasons I gave up on Console. Everything an be going fine, then you start looking at weak signals and...no audio. It is something that has plagued Console from the earlier versions. The other main reason is that I find Console over complex and difficult to 'drive'. I'll stick to H...

Re: Ferrite and interference spikes?
Hi Mike. This seems to be a common problem and it's one I have as well, mainly between 30 and 60 MHz and again around 440/460 MHz. In my case, removing the antenna gets rid of them, indicating it's a local interference source. No amount of filtering or screening makes any difference. I think the adv...

Re: Serveral Issues here - pls help
I notice that in all these cases of poor reception, the wanted signal is lined up with the DC spike. Surely this is a no-no? Why not just move the wanted frequency to one side? Apologies if I've mis-read the situation (I'm good at that...).

Re: Interference 255mhz
It's a known problem. Because the SDRPlay uses a converter to cover this frequency range, images are a problem. Try selecting a different LO frequency (EXTIO> advanced) or if this is not possible, an external filter.

Re: W3GAS reviews the SDRplay RSP
Hmm. Nice review, but it is possible to get a bit over-excited when you have something new in your shack. In the paragraph where he refers to analogue scanners and the reception of police and fire utilities, he states that with a conventional scanner you would need 'loads of antennas and pre-ampifie...

Re: The station name thing
Aha! Any chance of a bigger button so that oafs like me won't miss it in future? It's very small and crammed into one corner, don't you think? Is this button mentioned anywhere? Many thanks for you help.

Re: The station name thing
Thanks. I tried what you said and saw no change I'm afraid. One piece of info which I forgot to mention is that when I hover the mouse cursor over the selected frequency on the waterfall I see a tiny 'document' symbol appear at the cursor. But I never see a text pane popping up. It's like everything...

Re: SDRplay and MW/LF Reception
I agree. The SDRPlay gives my AOR AR5001d a serious run for its money at LF and MW(AM). Due to noise I can no longer use wire antennas, but on the Wellbrook loop the Play brings in stations just as well as the 5001. The only drawback is spurious responses, you have to know which signals are real and...

The station name thing
Apologies if I'm being thick (wouldn't be the first time) but what is meant to happen? I have the December 2015 API and the latest EXTIO (Feb 19) and the station name panel appears. Clicking around the SW broadcast stations I see nothing going on. The feature is ticked to enable it and it says the d...

Re: Strange behaviour on 20m
OK Sasan. It could be that the interfering signal is coming on and off. Try tuning your SDRPlay around the 300 - 420 MHz area to see if you can find a signal that looks like this.
