SDRPlay2 wont work on SSB
SDRPlay2 wont work on SSB
I can tune in my local FM & AM stations perfectly. All the adjustments and filter work.
When I try to tune a USB or LSB station that I am receiving ok on my analog receiver I get nothing. Like 14.300, 15.000 and 10.000
Any suggestions?? I've tried several antennas and SDR Uno, Console and HDSDR.

Tune in WWV on any of it's frequencies. Switch from AM to LSB or USB. Tune up or down 1 khz. Do you hear a tone along with WWV? You should if the unit is working right.

Nicks suggestion is good. It doesn't even have to be anything exotic like WWV, a MW BC station would do. Up or down 1KHz (with suitable switching of USB or LSB) should produce a tone. If you get that, it's working.

I tried WWV on 15 and 10 and can barely make out the tone. Adjusting the gain doesn't help.
I've tried several antennas, long wire with a great ground, 20 meter tuned dipole and a vertical.
With all the overload I get on broadcast AM and FM I would think there is enough gain.
I didn't expect it to receive like my R9000 but this is disappointing.
This is also the second unit, HRO exchanged the first one under warranty.

Hello N4MTB,
What port on the RSP2 are you using? It sounds like you are suffering from severe overload problems. If you are using ports A or B, have you tried the AM/FM notch filter? If that doesn't help, have you tried the Hi-Z port? That is better suited for use below 30 MHz on the RSP2, whereas ports A and B are general purpose ports for operation up to 2 GHz.
Sincerely

Re: SDRPlay2 wont work on SSB
I have tried all the antenna inputs, gain controls, SDRuno, HDSDR, and SDRConsole. All with nothing on SSB.
I have tried 14.300, 15.000 and 10.000 , all that I revieve perfectly fine on analog equipment.
Granted I don't expect it to receive like my R9000 but nothing??

Hello N4MTB,
If you are able to receive AM signals in the MW band, then it is unlikely (although still possible) that you have a hardware fault. The best route forward would be for you to open up a support ticket at: www.sdrplay.com/support/ and we will try to help you. Please be prepared to get screen grabs showing your spectral response and (crucially) your device settings.
Sincerely
