Great news on the website and a roadmap for Windows users. Nothing for us. Business as usual.

As a software developer myself, I can assure you that it is no small undertaking to port an existing major application to a different platform.

I'm sure it is. I'm also aware that the same amount of work put into a Windows version makes far more people happy and is commercially more rewarding than doing so for other platforms.

But after a year without any news on the subject one is left wondering if there still is some progress at all or if one hasn't rather been put on indefinite hold in which case I'd appreciate a clear word so us Mac users can move on.

We have been consistently clear about our route towards a cross-platform solution and that is that the major architectural and functional changes to SDRuno will be implemented first in Windows and then (and only then) SDRuno will be re-developed as a cross platform solution. Before this can be done, there are three more releases of SDRuno, two of which are major developments (1.3 and 1.4). 1.3 will be released very shortly and thereafter we will be working on release 1.4.
SDRuno was originally developed as a windows only solution and as had already been pointed out, to re-develop it as a cross platform solution (Windows, OSX and lest we not forget Linux), is a major development exercise. The chances of this been completed in 2019? Zero. 2020? Possibly, but no guarantees. We cannot be any more specific than that on timing.

That's exactly the kind of clarity I was hoping for. Not exactly the preferred outcome, but still better than being kept in suspension for another two years.

Thanks.

Ralf, I'm sure that you've already thought of this (and I don't know much about it) but can you run SDRUno on the Mac under an emulator? Isn't there something called Parallels or some such which does that? Not sure about performance though.....
