No available rsps found

Post by aries9 » Wed Aug 14, 2019 8:38 pm

Hello
I just received my sdrplay rsp1a.
Downloaded sdruno (v1.32 for Windows) from the download section and installed it.

But when I try to open the app I get a message "no available rsps found"

Device manager displays sdrplay rspa1 under sound and video cards, normally with no errors or warnings.

Have tried with windows 10 and windows 7 on two different PCs with same results.

I was about ready to return my rsp1a back until I tried the Sdrconsole which seem to work fine.

I'm new with sdrs in general ..
Has anyone any idea why I get this behavior from sdruno and how to get it to work?

Sorry that you don't appear to have elicited any response yet.
To be honest, I'M baffled as to why Console works and SDRuno does not.
The only suggestion that I can offer is to start from scratch and reload SDRplay from the start, following the instructions very carefully, particularly not changing the default direct directory and being careful not to have your RSP connected until told to do so.
I hope that you resolve, or have resolved your problem.
If not, may I suggest that you raise a support ticket.
The development team can't guarantee to view all posts on this forum, but are very responsive to support requests.

My device manager reports driver version 5.22.11.13.
Is this the latest? Is it possible to obtain a newer version or even the same, as a standalone package besides the installation of sdruno?

What about a firmware update, is this available?

The SDRconsole does not use the SDRplay API, it uses its own. That is why the console does work. I guess that the install procedure is not folowed to the letter. One has to not have the RSP connected during the first part of the install. After this the RSP can be connected and one has to wait for the driver to recognise the RSP and after this one can resume to the second part of the instalation.

It's just a guess, but this seems to happen once in a while.

Good luck :!:

Just to clarify...

SDR-Console does use the API, V2.13 - SDR-Console install contains the API, but you must have the hardware driver also installed, so you should always make sure tha API 2.13 is installed from our downloads page before installing SDR-Console.

Best regards,

Andy

Andy, mea culpa, Simon once told me that he uses his own API/DLL, files. I now see that this time he used the RSP API to be integrated in his code.

So I'm having this issue too. From what is in this thread so far, I'm not sure it's been fixed. Do I have to install the console? What is it even? I have SDRuno installed on my primary computer, and it works fine (Dell Latitude 14 RE, Win 10 Pro, SDRUno and RSP1A). My second is also Win 10 Pro and when I've already run SDRUno successfully, but unplug the usb to use on the primary and come back to the secondary, I get the "No RSP's found" error. I use usbdeview and notice that one instance of the RSP1A has a serial number, and then there's another one without a serial number (2 instances of the RSP1A). I uninstall all instances and reconnect the usb, and it installs but with no serial number, and I get the same error. So what I can tell the serial numbered installation works and the non-serial numbered version doesn't. Uninstall/reinstall doesn't give me a good usb driver install, and I have to completely uninstall SDRUno and start from scratch, which is a PITA especially when I'm on duty and need to monitor several bands and switch computers and the secondary SDRUno fails as described.

Any suggestions, oberservations?
Thanks,
Hoss
