RSP1A & FTDX5000 connections

Post by wolffworkshop » Thu Mar 21, 2019 6:53 pm

Hi, my name is Ben and I've just registered on the Forum. I'm hoping someone might be able to advise me on the correct lead for using the RSP1A with my FT5000. From what I can gather, if I want to share an antenna between them, I can connect the the RSP1A to the RX OUT BNC socket on the rear of the 5000, then connect to the RSP1A via an SMA connector at the other end. I'd be grateful if someone could confirm this is the most sensible way to go. There are pre-made leads on eBay that go 12" male to male BNC to SMA, which I thought would do the job. They have varying quality
co-ax and connectors too but all look to get the job done for around £5. Thank you to anyone that could chip in and give me some advice as I'm wanting to make my purchases as soon as I can clarify what's what.

Regards,
Ben Wolff
