Here is what I get trying to run grc:
john@john-Inspiron-660:~/Desktop/sdrplay$ gnuradio-companion
<<< Welcome to GNU Radio Companion 3.7.9 >>>
Preferences file: /home/john/.gnuradio/grc.conf
Block paths:

/usr/share/gnuradio/grc/blocks
/home/john/.grc_gnuradio
Loading: "/home/john/Desktop/n8jj.grc"
linux; GNU C++ version 5.3.1 20151219; Boost_105800; UHD_003.009.002-0-unknown
>>> Done
Showing: "/home/john/Desktop/n8jj.grc"
Generating: '/home/john/Desktop/top_block.py'

gr-osmosdr 0.1.4 (0.1.4) gnuradio 3.7.9
built-in source types: file osmosdr fcd rtl rtl_tcp uhd miri hackrf bladerf rfspace airspy redpitaya
FATAL: No supported devices found to pick from.
Trying to fill up 1 missing channel(s) with null source(s).
This is being done to prevent the application from crashing
due to gnuradio bug #528.
>>> Done
I was able to use the scripts from KB9RLW to get CubicSDR running with one minor error.
