Cheap L-BAND patch antenna (for inmarsat?)

Post by Jekko » Thu Aug 01, 2019 11:58 am

Hello,

on the Facebook page of SDRPLAY i saw this product

https://www.sdr-kits.net/L-Band-Receive%20Antenna

The productor claims that the product is tested only for the Sdrplay receivers.

I have a rsp1a.

My questions are:
Is this product suitable for INMARSAT reception?
Does someone have this antenna and saw that it works?

Thank you very much

I just ordered one and will let you know.
Give it some time to get to the states.

No problem at all. I am curious to see what I can pick up in the L-Band with this antenna here in South Florida.

Matthew Miller from FB got the l-band antenna and have been so kind to put a review, and it seems to work great!

He mounted the l-band antenna over a drain pipe because "someone on Facebook" *whistles* :D asked him to give us an idea of how it works without a dish.

I am waiting for my antenna, i am so curious to see if it works for me :)

I picked up a cheap active L-band patch antenna from an online seller and stuck it in place of the driven element of a homebew 1500 MHz yagi. Pic attached. Second pic is some of the stuff I received. The antenna was indoors and beaming through a brick wall, I'm sure it would have been a lot better outdoors.

Jekko

I received both GPS patch antennas from SDR-Kits today and they work just fine with the RSP1a/RSP2,2pro and Duo with no issues
